Our home trial even allows you try out mouthpieces, custom barrels, bells and ligatures.

Returns are not accepted on special orders, bespoke or custom made items.

General Accessories

Accessories can be returned for refund or exchange provided they are sent back in a fully saleable condition, within 14 days of purchase. This trial 14 day period does not affect our standard offer of a 30 dayreturn policy for any damaged or faulty goods.

Returns are not accepted on special orders, bespoke or custom made items.

Mouthpieces

We offer a 14 day home trial period for mouthpieces. We also, at our discretion may allow three mouthpeces to be tried at a time with payment being made for one, the other two mouthpieces sent out on account. Mouthpieces returned are subject to a £5 re-stocking fee. 14 day trial period does not affect our standard offer of a 30 day return policy for any damaged or faulty goods. Returns are not accepted on special orders, bespoke or custom made items.

Professional Opinion
Move over Yamaha.   This is THE sax to have.   YAS-280?  The Hanson Series V is just, well, better.   YAS-62?  The Hanson Series V is less than half the price and just as capable.
It's difficult to review this sax without sounding disingenuos; It's a great sax for very little cash.  Not a 'great sax for the money'.   No... this is a great sax AND it's not costing a lot!

Players moving up from a student model will immediately feel and hear a big difference with this saxophone.  Pro players will be amazed at how good this is and question as to why it's so cheap; can a great sax really be this good?

The answer is yes, it can.  The difference in cost is that we sell this sax only directly from our online store.  No wholesalers, no distributors, no middle men.  Consider how many people are adding their mark up to a Yamaha YAS-62...   Yamaha Japan?  Yamaha Europe? Yamaha UK? The local shop?  Everyone adding 10% or 30% or 50%

When you buy a Hanson Series V you are buying direct; no chain of middle men.  The result is a that whether you're choosing a Series V, VIII or LX the price roughly half of that of our competitors.

Features of the HANSON Series V

  • Light weight from improved design and materials.
  • Easier to hold and play without compromising durability.
  • Faster key action and less maintenance:  with self-adjusting spring-loaded screws and bearings from the LX model the new series 5 feels fantastic.
  • Distinctive deep gold lacquer finish. We designed this finish for our top line saxes but it just looks so good we decided to use it on the Series 5 too.  The deeper colouring really makes the hand engraving stand out.
  • Genuine mother of pearl touch pieces are now standard. This may not sound like a big deal until you have compared them side by side to a sax fitted with imitation (plastic) touch pieces e.g. Yamaha 480, Jupiter 769, Buffet 400 series.
Since 2003 the Hanson SA5 has earned an enviable reputation for quality and ease of playing. It’s a solid and reliable saxophone that will take you from starting out right through your grades; a great choice for beginners, advanced intermediates and pro players looking for a second instrument.
5 years warranty.  5 years free servicing including ‘wear and tear’ repairs.
As the title accurately says -

The Hanson Series V alto saxophone is quite simply the best saxophone under £1000 you can buy.  I'd argue that it's one of the the best saxes you could choose at any price.
