Our fantastic and unique 'no squeak' clarinet - now available in our famous FSC certified African blackwood. Get the ease of covered hole playing, with the beautiful tones available from our selected tone woods.

The great thing about covered hole clarinets is that they are much easier to play. On a 'normal' clarinet the main six finger holes need to be perfectly covered by the players fingers for the notes to speak properly.

The picture below highlights the difference. Notice how the clarinet on the left has silver covers on the holes. The player has only to press the cover to get the note.

A covered hole clarinet is a HUGE help for players with small hands or with finger problems such as arthritis but it is also recommended for any player who wants a clarinet which is easier to play, to spend more time playig the clarinet and less time squeaking!

Supplied either as a one piece instrument; assembled and ready to unzip the case, take out and play, or, in traditional format assembled by the player.

We highly recommend the pre assembled option with a Ritter case as this means the clarinet is stored in one piece - no putting together required! This is a huge benefit for players - just open the case and the clarinet is ready to play!

If you prefer the traditional option of the clarinet in sections it is important to note that great care is needed putting together and taking apart as the balance of the centre linkage is much more crititcal on a covered hole clarinet than a normal instrument.

The one piece ready assembled instrument needs no alignment at the centre joint and this is in our opinion a big benefit. Ask any clarinet repairer what the most common problem they see is and they will reply that it's bent keys at the centre and on the "crow's foot", both of which can happen (and do, a lot!) when the the clarinet is being assembled and dissembled.
That said, many of our customers have asked us for a traditional style case so due to popular demand we are giving you the choice. Just pop a note in the order notes which you prefer. If you don't specify we will contact you to confirm.
